General Inspection Tips for After Everyday Operation
Remember to check your truck’s OEM manual for specific instructions on how to inspect it after use. The manual should have the steps you need to take for a general inspection of your industrial trucks that includes checking the following parts of the vehicle:
- General appearance, including external damage and leaks
- Engine compartment
- Engine operation
- Light and gauge function
Vacuum Truck Daily Inspection Checklist
Follow these steps at the end of the day to inspect your vacuum truck:
- Full shutdown: Turn your vacuum truck off completely. Make sure you shut down every truck system in addition to stopping the ignition.
- Drainage: Open up all of the truck’s drain valves to empty the drain system fully. This step will get rid of debris and let air circulate throughout the internal system.
- Vacuum tank inspection: Perform a thorough inspection of the vacuum tank itself as well as its systems.

- Replace the filter bag as needed: After you complete your everyday inspection, take a quick look at the filter bag to check for damage.
- Run a restriction test: If you notice any issues with your truck’s operation, you can also perform a restriction test. See if the vacuum gauge shows higher levels than usual when you run the system.
- Keep an eye on the exhaust: Make sure the exhaust has no material coming out of it after use. Any debris running through the blower can damage it.
